Kid's Safe Night Out May 11, 2012

We are a bit late in getting this out so I apologize.  On Friday May 11,  Elk's Lodge 1407 in El Dorado, KS held their annual Kid's Safe Night Out event and Lisa and I were asked to provide some photographic coverage of which we were all too glad to provide!

Some images from the evening:

This was a great event and it would not have been possible without the hard work and time investment of a lot of great people.

Just a few thank yous and kudos:

 - Kathy Clark with Elk's Lodge 1407 for hosting the event
 - Shirley Patton with the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce for all of the great press
 - Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet for help with hosting
 - Sergeant Phil Wickwire gets a major shout-out for organizing this event for the last 22 years.
 - Volunteers Jamee Warren, Kristen Green, Emily Winegarner, and Marcie Beattie.

If you're not familiar with United Care, please take the time and visit their website at  United Care and find out about the wonderful work they do.   Lisa and I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone involved and we really love giving them our time!

United Care of Kansas First Annual Charity Auction

On Friday April 6, United Care USA / Wichita Chapter held their First Annual Charity Auction in memory of Andrew Haga at The Lizards Lounge.  A few images from the event:

Lisa and I had been contacted by Ron, United Care Chapter President, about donating our services and to help spread the word about the work that they do.  Their purpose is to promote awareness and prevention of child abuse, abduction and exploitation; distribute free publications and educational information to concerned citizens; promote volunteerism and self-help groups; sponsor film presentations for schools, kindergartens and civic organizations; maintain nationwide toll-free 800 “child abuse hot line”; educate the public relating to the mental health and well-being of exploited, battered, emotionally and sexually abused children under 18 years of age.
We had a great time and met a lot of great people and we would like to thank everyone for considering us to help out.  Go to United Care Wichita to find out more about their upcoming events and to also read more about the many services they provide.
We'll try to spread the word as well through this blog and various social media.
